Mrs. Winsborough and some people donated 50,000 dollars and built a red-brick building. The building was completed on November 30th. The school building was named 'Winsborough Hall' after her.

The school was closed voluntarily against Shinto shrine and Japanese Imperialism.

1974

Reunion built a memorial library for Principal Wharye Ryu.

'Gwangju Girls' School(presently Gwangju Speer Girls' Middle School and Gwangju Speer Girls' High School)' was founded as a resolution of mission Founder of School : Dr. Eugene Bell(a Christian Missionary) First principal : Miss Ella Graham(a Christian Missionary)

1911 In May

Mrs. M .L. Sterns donated $5,000 for cherishing Jenny, her younger sister. Using this donation, people built the 3rd story school building with white bricks and named it as 'Speer Hall'.(Founded in September 1, 68 enrolled students) Since then, the building was named as 'Jennie Speer Memorial School for Girls'.

Participation of the 1919 Independence Movement of Korea . 2 teachers and 21 students were put in prison, and the school was temporarily closed.
